What we may see for the first time in the US, may come across in a few days.. May 1 is called "May Day', and a celebration day for world communism.
We troops were told to play it cool and low profile in Germany, if we were near the iron curtain.. Some emotional types could get all wrapped up in their runaway emotions, and the brass didn't want any negative publicity.
Communists the world over usually celebrate on May Day..
Some old timers will remember when kids here in America celebrated May day, with tiny bouquets of wild flowers, but that fizzled out, when the ridiculous and ugly commie demonstrations took place.
Then of course, there is the Cinco De Mayo celebrations going on.. I wonder if our 4th of July is celebrated in Mexico, Venezuela or Columbia?
