I'm glad I don't need, or want any more guns. Ammo I hope will go down.

I will say this for Wal-Mart they are not gouging on ammo prices they had 350 ammo Friday for 19.88 a box gun shows $50.00. These old timer who are retired are making all the ammo stores and buying at regular price an then trying to double or triple their money.

I used to make the gun shows in Amarillo, then when I moved back down by Sherman, I made those.
Then they started being more like a flea market. Junk and high prices.
They're looking for suckers not gun people.

Certain groups have tried to shut gun shows down for years. With the high prices (greed?) and lack of selection, the shows may die without any help from those "special" groups!

Surely the cost of primers will come down. I can't believe there are very many ready to hand over $200 for 1000 primers.

wait till fall when deer seasons crank up. Ammo will probably double again. No sweat off my --- i havent used factory ammo in 40 years. Id like some more powder and primers but the reality is i could get by till im called up. I always wantq more guns but sure dont NEED any. Always boggled my mind that guys will have a 1000 dollar rifle and only 10 shells for it.

There hasn't been a show for about two years close to me. I decided years ago it wasn't worth the drive to go to them in the two larger area towns. 200+ mile round trips to look at mostly over priced stuff is just not my thing anymore. At the last local show in the fall of 2019 there was actually quite a bit of older guns and not just ARs and plastic fantastic handguns. Some were even priced reasonably but I didn't find a keeper and came home empty handed.

Haven't seen first hand, but I hear stores are getting some ammo in, and prices are high.

Visit two different Walmarts, have seen no rifle or rimfire ammunition in at least a year.  They had a dab of shot shells until about 7-8 months ago.

There wouldn't be any gouging
or gougers if everyone would
dig down deep and find the
personal resolve and not pay
the hyperinflated prices.

That's the key. This would all go away if people would stop buying for a month or two.

I would have thought that after the Obama caused shortages, folks would have stocked up some, so they could  endure another ammo pinch, without need to pay absolutely stupid prices !

Well,  a lot of people in my area did stock
up at the higher prices, then turned right
around and pi$$ed away what they had.

It's the "chicken little" which could now been known as the "toilet paper" syndrome that seems to inhabit so many people plus the tendency to put off till the last minute attitude that infects so many people. What, me worry? No need as it's always available. Untill it isn't.

I learned my lesson when the "Obomination" hit us and lasted eight years. I saw a guy post on another forum that he had 7000 rounds of 22 LR but he wasn't going to shoot any of it so he wouldn't have to buy more when it becomes available again. Uh, what did you buy it for except to get thru a shortage? Maybe he just likes to have a warm, fuzzy feeling of having 22 ammo.

Nothing wrong at all with having a
generous personal supply of ammunition
My amazement is those that knowingly
fritter away their goods and not accomplishing
anything by doing so,  then they don't
have anything left for genuine usage
and honestly can't understand why

Warm, fuzzy feeling are good but what is the use of buying a largenamount of ammo and simply let it all sit until the panic is over? Didn’t you buy it to be able to shoot some while the panic was in effect or do you simply want to brag on forums that you have that amount?

I laid in a pretty hearty supply of 22 LR simply because I like to shoot that caliber. If the weather guy hits the wind forecast for tomorrow I intend to do exactly that.

Brag? Did I "brag" about how much ammo I have? Don't believe I specified how much, of if I had any ammo.

I have enough ammo and loading supplies to last me for quite a while. I shoot mostly single shots and that makes the stash last longer. Most of my 22 ammo was bought when it was on sale, never did pay a higher than normal price for it. I do have some  Remington Goldens and Thunderturds for people with a sad story, kind of like giving someone a bag of Bull Durm and papers instead or one of my tailor mades.

What I was referring to, was after Obama had his turn at tightening up the supply, then for a while, the prices went back to near where they were BO (before Obama).  That is when they should have stocked up !
Now the prices and gun sales are fear driven by the Democ-rats again, but it may ease off once the demand is filled, or if a conservative congress gets elected.

I have a goodly supply and enjoy letting my kids and sisters kids shoot it up. Actually bought a 10/22 to help them shoot it faster. I’m a sucker for kids...

I bought a 10/22 classic a year ago one with the 22 inch barrel and checkered walnut stock one of these days when it quits raining and the water goes down I am going to give it a work out.

When I was growing up, I couldn't get enough shooting and hunting. When I went into law enforcement, I went to instructor schools, and between schools, training officers, and SWAT training and instructing I fired many thousands of rounds.
Kept up the shooting well past retirement,  but in the past few years, I don't shoot much.
I get the itch once in awhile to hear one go off, or check my sights, but the itch don't last.
I guess because of all my years of training, and all those thousands of rounds of training ammo is why I still hit what I shoot at.

I still carry every day, and I keep one close when Im here at the
house, cause there's still folks around that didn't appreciate my work.
But I'd really rather reload the ammunition than shoot it.
