Raised pattern in leather
« on: February 27, 2004, 11:37:49 AM »
I have made a few knife sheeths and have really enjoyed working with leather.  I would like to start making them a little mor fancy.  So far I hav just stamped them when they are wet.  I have seen fancy paterns that looked raised through out the whole piece of leather and am wondering how this is done.  If you know what I am talking about please help!  Thank you

It is done by carving and tooling the leather there is a book "how to carve leather" available from Tandy among others which explains how to do it.
