A&H Inlines
« on: March 06, 2004, 04:20:26 PM »
For any of you A&H users that sometimes have a problem getting the cap to go off I think may have a answer.  Since I live in Idaho, during muzzleloading season I have to use percussion caps.  In one of my A&H's I have left the original hammer and I am using #11 caps.  Even following A&H's instuction on setting the up the bolt and using Big6x6 suggestion, I got a lot of misfires on the first trigger pull.  Simply re-cocking the bolt and shooting agian would cause the ignition sequence.  I had this same problem with my Remington for awhile it was solved by installing an after-market hammer sring made by "Wolff" since installing that 28# spring I have never had a problem.  Well after a frustating day at the range the other day with the A&H, I came home dis-assembled the bolt and just out of curiosity I thought I would see if the spare "Wolff" spring I had would fit.  It did it was a little longer than the orginal A&H spring so it was a little more difficult getting the hammer started in the cocking mechanism but it worked fine.  Today, shooting 24, rounds there wasn't even a hint of a problem - sure fire every shot. I have read posts that have complained about this problem - maybe this is the answer, it certainly seems so for me.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....
