Michigan does not come from the ice cap! It comes from southern Canada and the US.
But even if it did, the Great lakes feed DOWNWARD to the ocean..my goodness the waters take a 167 foot drop at Niagara alone...along with the several hundred miles of lakes flowing DOWNWARD towards the coasts.
At the finish..the St Lawrence flowing into Hudson Bay, makes pretty good speed !
They may be losing a beach here and there..but gaining a beach somewhere else..natural course of nature..
