22 Hornet and 218 Bee
« on: May 15, 2021, 07:20:22 PM »
A friend stopped by to shoot yesterday. He brought a Cooper Model 38 in 22 Hornet and a Kimber of Oregon in 218 Bee. I drug two of my Rugers out, a 1A 22 Hornet and a 1S 218 Bee. We had good weather, light winds and blue skies. We shot some targets and clay birds. I was impressed with the accuracy or the Cooper. We both like to shoot single shot rifles and small calibers are easy on powder.

A good day shooting with a friend (s) is about as enjoyable as it gets. When I was just out of high school a good friend and I would get a brick of 22 shells $7-$8 and head down to the river with our single shot 22’s. I had a win M 67 and he had a Marlin bolt SS. We would spend hours shooting anything from bubbles on the river to dragon flys and everything in between.
Wish I had the eyesight of a 17 year old now  :'(  Now you can’t do the things we did back then but can still have a lot of fun shooting.  I read your post several times since you posted it and no one answered so I thought I would chime in like sitting around a campfire telling stories.
