The disgraced actor has served more than two years of a three- to 10-year sentence at a state prison near Philadelphia.
He had vowed to serve all 10 years rather than acknowledge any remorse over the 2004 encounter with accuser Andrea Constand.
Cosby, 83, who was once beloved as "America’s Dad," was convicted of drugging and molesting the Temple University employee at his suburban estate.

Legal experts weigh in on Cosby case
Philip Dube, a Los Angeles County deputy public defender who was not involved in the case, told Fox News that Bill Cosby was released because he was "denied due process and the benefit of an immunity agreement reached between him and prosecutors during civil litigation brought by his victims."

"In exchange for testifying at civil depositions, the elected DA in office at the time granted Cosby immunity from prosecution. That agreement lives beyond the term in office of the elected DA at the time," he explained.

Harvey Weinstein's lawyers praise court's decision to toss Cosby conviction
Attorneys for disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein praised Pennsylvania’s highest court for overturning Bill Cosby's sex assault conviction Wednesday, while indicating confidence that their client will have his rape conviction tossed out as well.

Weinstein's legal counsel is demanding a new trial more than a year after his rape conviction in New York. In a brief filed in April, they argued prosecutors were buoyed by improper rulings from a judge who was "cavalier" in protecting the disgraced movie mogul’s right to a fair trial.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who represented several women in Cosby's trial, releases statement
This decision by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court today to overturn the conviction of Bill Cosby must be devastating for Bill Cosby’s accusers. My heart especially goes out to those who bravely testified in both of his criminal cases. I represented a majority of the prior bad act accusers who testified. Despite the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision, this was an important fight for justice and even though the court overturned the conviction on technical grounds, it did not vindicate Bill Cosby’s conduct and should not be interpreted as a statement or a finding that he did not engage in the acts of which he has been accused.

All I've heard is that he was out and
on his way home, and that all these
different people were upset that he
was out.
Did he actually say he sexually assaulted
these women against their will, kidnapped
and raped them? Or was that the media
filling in the blanks they wanted to fill?

I've never been able to find out what actual
evidence there was that put him in prison.
Some of the people I've asked got fairly
indignant and red faced

I've still not found out anything.
I saw where an anonymous internet
person had posted that bc was a
filthy rapist and should be lynched,
but just drew ire when I asked about
the physical evidence that showed
bc was guilty beyond reasonable doubt

I'm no fan myself, but I'd sure
hate to serve time in prison for
crimes without some hardcore
evidence against me

He may be guilty as satan.

I'd personally like to know what
evidence was presented that sent
him to prison

Over 60 women made similar accusations against him. Where is the proof though? Let the number sink in...

Numbers don't mean anything

Hard evidence is supposed to
be what sends someone to jail

I'd sure hate to be sent to jail
without some hard evidence

I agree. If my daughter were to come to me and say that someone drugged and raped her being only 1. That person would not have to worry about trial and jail time...

What if you killed somebody and
afterward she had guilt pangs
and said she'd lied about it.
That she was embarrassed?

What if you found out that your life was actually someone else’s dream?

That makes as much sense to you as yours does to me...
