Well IMO it's pretty much too late
to start fretting over chinese goods
and such.  We should have been way
more concerned and refusing to
patronize stores full of cheap chinese
merchandise 50 years ago, but we were
too occupied with having the latest
and greatest electronic gadgets and
getting cheap replacement parts
and such. Nobody has considered
long term effects on our economy
and country for many years now.
I guess if you need new pillows
you can get the good American made
ones. Just about everything else
is imported
The time when we could have
really made a difference without
great sacrifice has long past.
We can put things back right,
but it would take tremendous
sacrifice, and most won't even
consider doing without the
accustomed comforts even
at the expense of loss of freedoms
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

China didn't make any huge gains, until the 1990s, when the Clintons sold out our country to them...and the Democrats have been doing it ever since..

Just think; it was only 120 short days ago..when we were the #1petrolium exporting country !  Now, don't hand me that old "global warming" crap bucket..since the world is using just as much petroleum as 120 days ago.

Only difference...the money paid for it.. is now going to places like Venezuela, Russia and Iran..

Don't disagree with the jist of what you say, but Nixon started it when he bowed to Mao during the opening of China. I couldn't vote for him the second time after he did that.

Nixon ran the second time in 1972.  If one were to vote at all, there was no other choice.  Surely, McGovern was not a sensible option.
I started voting as a Democrat (inherited from my folks).  Had to be 21 then, and for my first presidential election, I voted for JFK.

Time 1968 rolled around, I was growing weary of the Democrats..so I voted for G. Wallace..as a protest.

Then 1972 arrived, and the Dems nominated G.McGovern...that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Like R Reagan...i found the Dems went so far left, that they surely left me...and they have only gotten progressively worse ever since !

I tried the Republicans for a while, and although they are not near as depraved as the Democrats, they aren't that great either.

Now I comfortably ignore parties and vote the issues entirely.  Of course in my home state, that means I can't vote in the primaries, since the "parties" have rigged that one..but that's OK with me.

1972 I voted for the Cowboy Party for president (in Nebraska they had a Cowboy Party). Something I learned from my father. When he didn't like either major party candidate, he voted Cowboy Party. That approach still works.
