Sitting on the patio enjoying the morning

It's beautiful morning today just after sunrise, 67 and not even a breeze yet. My wife and I are enjoying our first cup of coffee on the patio and watching the few birds that are around enjoy the grain I put out for them. No traffic on my road to disturb us at all and someone well north of us have a jackass that I can barely hear tell everyone it's alive and I can also hear one dove calling far to the north.

The weather guesser is giving us a 60% chance of rain this afternoon and tonight and the cool weather is supposed to continue for awhile. Except for a week in the middle of June it has been an unusually cool summer for us with daytime temperatures in the mid eighties to low nineties instead of the ordinary high nineties and low one hundreds. Life is good.

We really enjoy our front porch. I take a can of portably oxygen, sit back and enjoy the serenity of it all. Not a lot of traffic, lots of birds, usually a breeze even in the heat of the summer. We are truly blessed. Porches are great. CHARLIE.

The peacefulness of sitting on the porch or deck in the early morning with a cup of coffee, or in the late evening with a beer is awesome.  Its just some of the best moments in life. A couple weeks ago I was sitting outside after dark and there was dead silence. Not a sound of anything in the woods. Was one of the few times there wasn't a sound anywhere.  Although I am getting hard of hearing.    Soon the woods will be blasting with the sounds of katydids, cicadas, and crickets.

It is just as nice this morning and a bit cooler at 64 degrees. We had a shower late yesterday afternoon and my out of control bermuda grass is glistening in the early morning sun. Even the wind is completely calm. There are half dozen dove sharing their free breakfast and several calling off in the distance. I can take a lot of mornings like this.

GRILL is right next to the swing, WE shoot from the porch too. I built it about 30 years ago. I used treated lumber but the outside board is starting to show a bit of rain damage. It will still outlast both of us. CHARLIE.
