Have an old Victorian barn that needs updating. It is about 20'X35', 2-story, with upper swing door.
It needs;
1) To go from wood floor to complete concrete.
2) Replace ground contact timbers
3) Pour new concrete floor and set barn down onto it.
4) Remove a useless ell addition.
5) move an inside divider wall, from about 2/3X1/3 to 3/4x1/4..
6) New metal roof over paper and furring strips.
7) New siding over Tyvek
replace 2 garage style doors
9) Build in 2 new 'man' doors.
We must furnish dumpsters and siding..
Called a local Amish contractor who has an excellent reputation..who surveyed the barn and made a bid.
We (my son and I) expected anywhere from at least $20,00 on up !
Pleasant surprise! He came up with a bid of $12,900 .. I could hardly wait to write the starting check of $4000.
The siding will be hemlock, board & batten..purchased from another Amish neighbor ..
