Australia...perhaps not as we pictured it..

    It seems we have pictured Aussies as more or less rugged individuals".  ...But a man was on Fox this morning,

   who has emigrated from Australia to the US, claiming he wanted more freedom.  He said that Aussies are actually much more like European socialists, that Americans are.

  For example; the Australian government is introducing facial recognition over cell phone, to their citizens, so the government can keep closer tabs on each person.

 https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/09/pandemic-australia-still-liberal-democracy/619940/

   A snippet from the article;

     "of the country’s six states, developed and is now testing an app as Orwellian as any in the free world to enforce its quarantine rules. Returning travelers quarantining at home will be forced to download an app that combines facial recognition and geolocation. The state will text them at random times, and thereafter they will have 15 minutes to take a picture of their face in the location where they are supposed to be. Should they fail, the local police department will be sent to follow up in person. “We don’t tell them how often or when, on a random basis they have to reply within 15 minutes,"

   ..And don't think for one moment that some politicians wouldn't like just such Orwellian controls here..

A month or so ago someone here was posting an Australian news caster making fun of Joe Biden.
While I ain't a Biden fan, I took exception to it  noting this arrogant aussie was along with all his "mates" living voluntarily in socialism.
They handed over their guns, and do as their told.

I am guessing there are "rugged individuals' in Australia just like here and just like here, they are out voted by the "non-rugged individuals" that want the government to run their live. Government always takes every inch they can to control us and make us subjects instead of citizens. Our forefathers that fought to take us out from under the control of a tyrant king and make us free didn't include the second amendment so we could have guns to hunt. It was so we could stand up to the government that was to follow. We have failed in that effort and are following along in the footsteps of Australia. Like something rolling down hill those footsteps are getting faster and faster.

It doesn't really matter your age in the end. When they show up on your porch and demand your guns.
The end of your freedoms is close, what will you do?

That is the truth. For many of us here, we won't even be around to see the final nail driven. I have believed for a long time that the responsibility for changing the trajectory of government/history is the people of that country. Here, like all other countries, the majority have shown what they want. They may not like it when they get there, but they have chosen. If enough don't like it when they get there, they will will have to pay to change it just as some did in 1776.
