I went to the source survey here: https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/American-National-Social-Network-Survey-Topline-Questionnaire.pdf

I will say I could not find a plain statement in the source survey to support the statement that 22% of evangelicals have intentionally not shared their faith. I think that's an interpretation of the stats, and rather than attempt math this early in my coffee, it seems to be a probable interpretation.

But one thing that leaps out to me is that the respondents (in Jul-Aug 2020) are majority liberal politically, which usually correlates with a hesitancy to share one's faith.

Some liberals may claim a faith, but I don't think the real GOD recognizes them as constituents.

I think IMO. You can’t be a leftist and a Christian. It is a oxymoron.

Actually TN, that is probably the category that brought me up short, and moved me to post and question the "survey".  I know thousands of "evangelicals", and am not aware of any who HIDE the fact!

Thanks for pursuing it further, and finding the leftward tilt.  Perhaps some hide their affiliation with evangelicalism, if they happen to be the brand of evangelical who rolls in the aisle, and jumps over the pews stiff -legged ..

...And unfortunately, some people take the term "evangelical" (obeying the 'great commission') to mean something beyond the original etymology of the word...

I don't know if all liberals are going to Hell.
I don't know if any poll is answered with heartfelt truth, or is published truthfully.

I share my faith if given the opportunity, and confess that I am lackadaisical in creating opportunities to do so.

I don't believe that Christ is a conservative, or politically minded in any way.

I do know that according to scripture, He has in the past, used evil rulers to punish Israel for their falling away from God.

I do believe, that God at this time in our history is demonstrating the fallacy of moral decay as a country, by allowing a corrupt government to incrementally suck away our freedoms, and individuality.
I believe that Israel is a perfect example of this, as it is collectively locked into old law Judaism, and for that reason is under constant  attack, yet continues to deny Gods new dispensation of Christs' sacrifice on the Cross.

While they valiantly battle those that want to destroy them, they believe, as do others, that their path to Heaven is somehow different than others, ignoring such scripture as:

Galatians Chapter 3 verse 28: There is neither jew or gentile, neither slave nor free, neither male, nor female, for you are all one in Jesus Christ,

We've chosen sides with man's answers of Republican vs Democrat.

I don't believe this is as much as a "conservative vs liberal issue" as much as it is a "Biblically moral issue".

God let's man suffer his own stupidity which include those who tolerate a fool's folly.

Adam made the point  a long time ago.

Jesus did not make special efforts to save the fools, he simply stated the facts and let each suffer or gain his/her own eternity.
