Targets up top  are with the buck on top #1  This is with the buck under the slug #2.  The lee 7/8oz slug loaded better than the 1oz. Just as a slug load the 7/8oz was more accurate than the 1oz.   All are 30'  out of a 18" cylinder bore.   This is a different stacking. Used a nitro card between buck and slug to keep the buck from jamming into the slug.  I also did both with a .69 round ball.

Interesting. I either shoot magnum slugs, or #4 magnum buckshot. I never thought about mixing the two, but I've also never loaded shotgun shells.
Now at my age, the 12 guage is loaded for protection only. #4 buck in a magnum load in a Model 1100 I built for fighting back in my younger days.
My long walk days are over.
But seriously, what is the purpose of mixing the two?

.69 round ball. 50 yards 18" cylinder bore. Not trying very hard. Longer bore would tighten it up more.

The PDX is a short range combat round.  Buck&Ball.  If you miss with the ball the buck gives a chance of a hit. Pattern your buck at your longest realistic  self defense range. You will find the pattern is not as wide as you think.  In a fight we wont have time to aim well.  The Irish Brigade loaded  .58  (about 20ga)  B&B to clear the sunken road I think at Gettysburg.  Short range in your face. But then the Irish had BIG BALLS!  --- This is a pic from Winchester of the PDX at 45'.

I used to teach a class called "Shotgun Stress". It was how to fight with a shotgun. Many folks don't realize what a shotgun is capable of, and what a valuable tool they are.
Shotguns will shoot around corners if you know what I mean.
They are really versatile, but many don't understand some of their tendencies.
Example; at 50 yards if you want a center mass hit. Aim at their knees.
I've been retired from L.E. for quite a few years now, but I'm gonna read up on these loads your doing. I think I'd heard of'em way back when, but didn't research them any.

Winchester had some good  info on there page.  Check out there 2  410PDX loads.  For a old guy who cant handle "the beast" any more it would turn a under power gun into a  A** Kicker.  Load them in a Taurus.

Luckily my 1100 is gas operated so calms the recoil some. My biggest problem at 71 is both my shoulders, my right elbow, and right bicep have a lot of damage. The forend weight is an issue.
My Sig Tread is my go to if more than room distance is required, and time permits.
