How do you remove the front sight on an 1895M. I took the visible screw out but the sight didn't budge. what am I doing wrong?
To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.

BB;
I'm not exactly positive, but if there is a ramp with a dove-tail in it and a sight pressed into that dove-tail, there most likely is a screw under the sight to hold the ramp in place!
Either press or tap the sight out and you'll probably see the screw underneath!
Just a guess!

Yes! Tap the front sight to the right, from the left side. Underneath you'll find a second screw.

Good advice. I might add that it is best to reinstall from the left side as well.
