40 grain V Max and TAC

Does anyone have some good loads for this?
( I only went back a few pages here since
many of the posts are very old and maybe
outdated)
I was able to find some TAC, but I don't
have current data for it

EDIT- forgot the important part
Data for a. 223 Remington.

The only TAC I know about is Norma TAC 22.

I have the new loading manual and have a separate window open to this post. I'll try to remember to bring the manual in here tomorrow and see what the load range is on that combo.

ramshot will send you a loading manual (pamphlet) but mine doesnt have loads for 40 grain bullets. Maybe Bills newer one will.  But comparing it to 335 is pretty close. I believe its just wc846  and terminator is close to 2230 and i was told is just wc844

Start at 25.2 grains for   3405 fps

Max load 28.0 grains at  3721 fps

54,390 PSI Max at     2.260" COL

In this they have start of 24.9 and max of  27.7 gr for 40 gr VMax

I have a sweet load for TAC, but 55 gr. VMax, 24.5gr TAC.  And I have a full 8 lbs of it!

I have a brochure/manual type
folder here, but it's got to be at
least 20 years old.
So many of the powders have
been reformulated the last decade
or so, I figured it's just good
sense to get current data.
I have probably 4 dozen different
bought books, but they're fairly old.
I trust the people at GBOReloaded
more than these others. So many
post loads 3 or 4 grains over max
then they say " I don't use those
lawyer books, I go by velocity.  ."
IMO velocity is nothing without
accuracy, and there's no sense
pushing my luck and straining
my firearms

I should also add that the last
couple of newer books I got
were all geared toward bullets
and powders that I don't use.
More toward the trendy long
range target shooters more
 so than the hunting crowd

I recently bought the latest manuals from Western Powders, Hodgdon, Hornady and Nosler. I mostly load Hornady and Nosler bullets and pretty much all of my powders are either Accurate powder or those now owned by Hodgdon. I wish they'd still put out a real full size manual but all they do is the annual manual in a magazine size format. I get it each year.

The data I gave you is from the very latest full size Western Powders manual which covers both Western and Accurate powders.

I've never personally used any Western powders I don't think but do use a lot of Accurate powder and these days they are together.

I used to pick up the Hodgdon
book/magazine  every year, but
no place close has much of anything
with an outdoor format anymore
especially gun related. Then again,
most of the data I've seen seems to
be Varget/ELD recipes for those
wanting to shoot long distance targets,
or for 9 millimeter Luger data


I appreciate those here that
share relevant information
