Apparently, these CCP hyper missiles circled the earth in about and hour time, then approach the USA from the South. DoD only watchs from the East, West, and North.....the Southern flank is open.
After trillions and trillions of dollars spent on defense over the years, they forgot to think of missile attacks coming from the South!.

TM7. Thinking hypersonic glide vehicles use aerodynamic flight controls while in atmosphere. The shuttle, X37 space plane and X15 are good examples.

could use vectored thrust or aerodynamic controls.
All have the thermal challenge and if maneuvering at speed, the vehicle may disintegrate. Guessing the use of ceramics in some areas.

The US really doesn't have a serous missile defense. Just a few interceptors. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) relies on the will to use it.
We used to advertise a Bioweapon attack on the US would be met with a strategic response.
