I have cast bullets for years, I think this winter I am going to try powder coating.

Mines more of a matte od . Probably due to the mustard yellow being a dull color. I used the mustard because smoke said it was the best high velocity color he had. But just mustard yellow was kind of ugly.

I thought green was for zombies.  Silver was for vampires.

thats about the way i look at it too but id pass on the pink. Black cost the same and is good enough for me. Only reason i got into this green thing is i had a lb of black and a lb of yellow and wanted to store them and they both fit in the same container so i tossed them togethers. Wasnt looking for green its just the way they turned out. Im sure not in a beauty contest with my ammo. Im about making noise and holes in things.

After molding are you resizing before you powder coat?

I just powder coated some bullets and sized them after coating.

only bullets i size first are ones that i gas check that have shanks on the large side. I size installing the gas check and usually again afterward. Some bullets just have such a tight gas check fit that they wont allow you to gas check after you pc. Sizing is so much faster though because you dont have to worry about lube fill out that its not a big deal to do it twice.

The PC adds .002-.004 depending on product and how well it adhears and how much you "sift" off. But YES sizing is last step. Rarely do I GC first any more. I know what powders run thin so I use those. But no harm in GC first if ya know that bullet has a "fat" base. I dont seat GC in a lube/sizer any more. I use a NOE system on a RCBS Summit Press.

This is the tool before I changed to the Summit. (Ammo master here)

I settled on Eastwood red. It works and I haven't had a failure yet. I really don't care about color as long as it works and works well. I size after coating. The added thickness helps with a Lee mold I have that drops undersized 38/357 bullets.
