They're closer to shutting down
than everyone thinks.
They suffer from the same malady
that every industry in America suffers
from. There's lots of employees from
the top to the bottom that don't know
much about the business they're
engaged in, and aren't really qualified
nor do they have an affinity for the
business they do.
This is most evident at places like
banks where they have tellers that
truly cannot count money, and at
stores where they have cashiers
that truly cannot count money.
I've seen dozens, maybe hundreds
of automotive repair personnel
that work every day at a shop, but
couldn't repair their own lawnmower
or chainsaw if it went kablooey.
Hundreds of border jumpers that
build houses every day, but couldn't
slap together a sturdy dog house
from scrap without someone to
show them what to do.
Lots of problems with our systems
right now, but I don't see any
long term solution to any of it.
Many things we should have been
working toward years ago
