Even though the door frame was welded shut, the external cut lines remained. Kaiser lacked the funds to produce a one-piece body panel, so while it looks like an entry, it'll never open. You can pull as hard as you want—it won't budge. Years later, Chevy's 1967-1972 Suburban "three-door" properly replaced the driver-side rear door with an uninterrupted panel.
