OK, so were's a good place to hunt woodchuck's in Central New York? I love shooting woodchuck's. :-D

If you want a personal invitation to hunt ,I cant help you but the area north east of Syracuse from say Rome to Watertown used to be loaded with chucks. Chucks are everywhere in New York. Take your pick. Horsefeathers. Ex N.Y. Hunter.

I used to hunt them in the farm country in Wayne and Ontario counties. Lots of chucks there. Another Ex N.Y. Hunter.

Last year as usual, I demonstrated the historical shop at the state fair.
I took my camper up there and stayed at a campground at Duck Lake.
I recall wishing I had the opportunity to pass a bit of time "hog hunting".
The area in Wayne county around Victory, Red Creek, Wolcott and South Butler looked really prime!
One clue...when you approach a farmer for hunting permission tell him you are using .22 rimfire only....then use .22 rimfire only.
After you've been hunting there some, and he can see that you're a safe hunter...THEN if you wish, you may well be able to convince him you need something with a bit more range, to get the 'chucks "out in the middle of the field".
