Sometimes there is a 'silver lining'..
« on: March 16, 2022, 04:00:40 AM »
Sometimes, even in the most dire of circumstances..there can be found a silver lining..

On December 8, 1941..there was a "sea change" in American attitudes.  On the morning of Dec 7, America was slumbering..then came the ugly attack by the Empire of Japan.
As voiced with great trepidation by Admiral Yamamoto...Japan had only succeeded in "awakening a
 sleeping giant".
The invasion on Ukraine may well have served the same purpose.  As of last month, NATO was a "sleeping giant". Germany and other European powers only begrudgingly paid into the organization, and then ..less than what they had agreed to, despite the fact that Slow Joe is still sleeping.

Then the invasion of the Ukraine...  Now the signatories to NATO and other European nations have not only stirred, but  has sat up and taken notice !
Germany for one..has suddenly gone beyond what they originally agreed to..  Putin also got the rapt attention of the Balkan nations and the Baltic states.

       GOOD!!  It's about time...

They sure have  been Dee, but since the Ukraine invasion, they seem to be on a different route..

One thing that may have helped, Germany replaced that female chancellor from old East Germany, who was a bit soft on communism (IMO).

O, they are still cursed with some weakness, so they are waiting for Slo-Joe to make the move.

Poland is a NATO member and has some Migs they want to pass on, but they want some F16s to replace them.  We have some F16s we can spare, but Bumbles won't turn them loose.

I guess Dumbo is too busy handing out smoking kits and sucking on his sippy cup.

Exactly why he may no longer be seen as the... "leader of the free world'..

Ther is an old saying..  "Don't take time to look behind, someone may be gaining on you."
