.41 mag load developement
« on: March 29, 2004, 02:15:18 AM »
I'm in the process of developing .41 loads for my Redhawk and FG.
 What are your favorite loads for the .41 mag? I would like to develope an accuracy round in my Ruger Redhawk, and a Hunting load in my FG.
  I have about 50 rounds that were reloaded for my Redhawk that is awesome 2.66 at 100 yards and 1.77" with my FG at 100. The trouble is I have know idea what it is except 210gr JHP over 20 grns of something.
                        I just got some 296 to try with the 210 XTP. Hopefully 20 gr 296 is the ticket. .

RV;

Go to marlinowners, I've left you some loading info there.

I think I'll stay here where I can log in with no problems, and bail-out on Marlinowners.com. A lot more going on here also.
If you need more info on loads let me know. Have a good load using 215gr. hard cast  if you need it.

210gr xtp 19.5 gr w296 is by far the best i've loaded for the 41, handgun or rifle.
 I tried 20 grains and the group opened up by 2inches at 50 yards. I'm still wondering if 50yds and parallax might be a problem.
  I guess scope tests will be the next thing. I wouldn't be surprised if my 100 yard groups are as good as the 50 because of the parallax.
