IG, I think to be accurate, its important to remember that the SBC ... the Convention ... does not have authority over the individual churches or their members, so while the woke celebrities are going one way, the average Southern Baptist remains pretty much the same. I think the national organization and structures have come unhinged from the people in the pew, and I suspect collapse over the horizon, which may be the best thing for them. The strength of the SBC has always been the Cooperative Program budget, but where's there is money there is bound to be problems and past attempts to reform were themselves corrupted by the $$. Full disclosure, I chose to switch my Chaplaincy Endorsement from the SBC some years back as the leadership was losing its charity; I've been endorsed by the Conservative Baptist Alliance since, and grateful for it.
