The southern plains is famous for quickly changing weather. If you don't like it stick around for a couple of days and it will change is an old and true saying. One event is a given though and has happened every year since I'm been old enough to remember and that is our Easter spell. We always get a cold spell right at Easter and this year's arrived this morning on a stiff and chilly wind. If the forecast is right this one will be brief and not amount to much. No moisture, just cold wind with them.
Where I have a water pan for the birds and small critters and wash out the container every few days to get rid of the trash that it collects the Bermuda grass is showing some green. Everything else is still winter brown. The Tatum weather station that keeps weather data shows they have had .12" of total moisture this year. Extreme drouth in this area right now.
