Perhaps all of us know of a very pleasant, out of the way local spot, that strangers may pass right by, not realizing they are even there.
In deeply wooded, hilly areas, it is easy for strangers to miss such places.
Here is a spot less than 20 miles from my home, and even though it is now a park, set aside by a nearby county..few, outside of locals know about it.
This dam is located on a creek..in some areas it would be called a river... and was used to generate electric for a narby village of about 2500-3000 people..providing very low cost power.
With the growing village and more power needed for each home, the dam became outmoded and not worth the upkeep.
Now the dam nd surrounding acreage, are a small park. Locals catch some nice fish there, when th esalmon are running.
This creek leads down through mysterious Zoar Valley, which I have covered in earlier posts.
