Jordan Peterson's incredible journey to God..
« on: May 21, 2022, 04:16:40 PM »
One of the contemporary great thinkers, after a rather long career, seems to finding his way to God.

Great thinkers lke him, are often slow to come to Jesus..but once committed, becomes a man of God.

Let us hope & pray that such happens with Jordan.

At about the 13 minute mark, he lapses into a short commentary on today's culture, how it is degenerating and our individual duty..

Like some, both he and his wife seem disillusioned by the staid, boring, ritualistic established church, it would be a blessing for him to find a local work that demonstrates the righteousness of God...but also His great love, so well demonstrated by Jesus.

If not interested in the subject, or the speaker...just pass on by...

We stayed home this morning and watched the Donelson C of C in Nashville where our niece attends.
They sing the old time gospel music and have great sermons while our own Church sings nothing but 7-11 songs and those distract from the mind set that I should have.   It's getting real hard to worship as we should.

Our church has mostly 7-11 songs..usually one traditional and 2-3 'contemporary' songs.
Not exactly what I prefer, but I must remember that I am not the only one worshipping there, so I just bear with it, since music is not a big deal with me.
We are trying to bring in the locals, and be a multi-generational local church, so it may be the way to go.
In any case, the doctrine is 100% and the messages are spot on and completely Biblical in content.

Add that to a very loving, non-judgemental congregation..and I am happy.

When I hear a 7-11 song I can't help but think of the vain repetition mentioned in the Bible.

Absolutely, Bugeye..  I often think to myself..."Why repeat those same words, four times over..because I'm sure God heard it the first time"!

Butthat is the music most people below about 60, listen to !

Melody: a series of single notes that is musically satisfying. :)
7-11 songs; a series of single notes that are musically terrifying. :o

They grate on my nerves.  ;D
