     Hard to beleive Plastic can handle that much pressure .

ACTIV plastic shotgun shells in
the past back when they were
a thing and ammo in general
was reasonably priced.
Still have probably a couple of
dozen of them scattered around
( yeah I know- shotgun shells are
lower pressure, etc. etc. and this
new rifle round is very high pressure)

  Those Activ hulls reload quite well , I think these composite rifle rounds would be unusable for reloading .

I doubt the military buyers will do
whatever would be suitable for the
common infantrymen
A friend's son had ( has?) a nice AR
in the 6.8 that the military was supposed
to adopt some time back,  and it's a
great hunting round. Probably be
perfectly suited for sending enemy
combatants away also,  but it wasn't
what they wanted for whatever reason

The new ammo is supposed to penetrate body armor up to 600 yards.  So, it seems to make body armor obsolete.  The 6.8 is loaded to 80,000 lbs pressure vs about 62,000 for 308 or 7.62x51.   I wonder if the body armor had the steel plates in them.  600 yards is a long way, about 1/3 of a mile.

Unlike  most , I wasnt up aware this technology  . I just found out you could actually buy it

Are you sure about the operating pressures cited. I see figures in the area of 58000 psi which is more in the same ballpark as 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO.
The plastic case idea immediately reminded me of the Dardick Tround. (Lower pressure of course as a pistol round)
