A video reportedly showing a leaked clip from Disney's upcoming "Baymax" animated series has the company under fire from conservatives over the inclusion of a flag supporting transgender people.
Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist with the Manhattan Institute, tweeted the clip on Wednesday with the caption: "I've obtained leaked video from Disney's upcoming show 'Baymax,' which promotes the transgender flag and the idea that men can have periods to children as young as two years old. It's all part of Disney's plan to re-engineer the discourse around kids and sexuality."
In the clip, the titular robot appears to be in a grocery store where they receive advice about feminine hygiene products from various other customers, including one wearing a shirt with a pattern with the same color scheme as the transgender flag, which is blue, pink, and white. None of the characters' gender identity or sexual orientation is mentioned in the clip.
"Baymax" is a spinoff of Disney's "Big Hero 6," an animated film loosely based on a comic book series from Marvel. The Disney+ series is the first television production by Walt Disney Animation Studios, according to SlashFilm, and it premieres today.
