The local UMC church died a couple weeks ago. It was a sad note, even though th eUMC is having split problems at this time.
They held their final service at that time. Here, from an attendee;

40 ish people attended the Final service of Machias United Methodist Church. I will miss the 5-10 that came on a regular basis.
Imagine, 5-10 regular attendees.. all White-headed..
It seems the United Methodists and the SBC are both going through 'splits-ville' and for the same reasons..
..... "Progressive" churches.. wreaking havoc..
