Now, this is not about Guzzi, since I have no knowledge of his business..but I did have an interesting experience, back in 1997..
I had bought another home..the old Victorian was nice, with much gingerbread, but zilch for insulation.
I hired a local guy to do my insulation.. Great job,; he filled every nook and cranny..and being completely satisfied. I paid him cash on the spot.
As he and his helper were packing up, he began telling me about how he was doing some jobs which were
aimed at the poor, and were paid for by the government.
I was at the time, not aware of any genuinely "poor' any where nearby, but he mentioned a widow woman up the street who was one such case, even though she didn't seem truly poor.
He went on to say that he had done many of those freebie insulation jobs. Then he said, "funny thing though, almost all of them were for either teachers or lawyers"!
After I got over the shock..I got to thinking.. Neither of those groups are genuinely "poor" around here...so why
the concentration of government gifts to them?
Best I can figure, one member of those two groups must learn how to cheat the system..then they pass the
word on to their buddies.
..Much like they say the old hobos used to somehow pass on information of easy places to hit for a free meal..
Apparently no shame in any of those groups!
BTW; That widow woman up the street died a few months later..and her house went to a well enough off nephew, who hardly knew her !
Politicians handling money..
