Just say NO! to ranked choice
« on: August 17, 2022, 05:47:07 AM »
This morning's tally for AK Rep seat has Perolta (D) at 37, Pailn (R) at 32, and Begich (D in an R suit) at 28.
By the rules of ranked choice, since no candidate got over 50, only the top 2 candidates are kept, and all votes for Begich are distributed based on whomever was the #2 choice of the voter. So if someone ranked Begich 1, Palin 2, then their vote goes to Palin. The anti-trumpers most likely put Begich 1 and the Democrat 2, so all their votes go to Perolta. The anti-Sarah Rinos probably didn't put a #2 choice after Begich so they don't factor into the distribution.

AK GOP also pushed for mail-in votes this year, so we still have a few weeks before its all settled out. What a mess.

I'm betting Begich never ran to win, just to make sure Palin lost, and was funded and backed not just by the Rinos but Dems as well. Perolta ran uncontested for Dems. I think this was the strategy from the beginning, and will be how the Rino/Dem party tries to block America First candidates anywhere ranked choice is practiced.

One analyst on Newsmax said this morning, that Palin's chances look decent.  Alaska's election process is like no other, so it is difficult to figure out.

He did say however, that since that dude was just a spoiler and now no longer in contention, the votes he dragged off will likely, mostly go to Palin.

They do ranked choice voting in Maine.
I've never really understood how it works or the philosophy behind it, except to say it's another method to get democrats and Rino's elected.
.

Any way they can do it..the crooked-crats will twist things out of shape to get it !

I hope that's the case. There are more RINOs in Alaska than I would've expected, concentrated in Anchorage and Juneau.

I figured Anchorage to be a liberal town.  Seems like their newspaper, The Miner..is a liberal rag.

My brother's kids have been working back & forth to Alaska, since they were living there with their parents
  during the 1970s.
He is a Democrat, but he has 6 kids (1 girl, 5 boys).  One son is a Democrat~union guy, the rest are
   conservatives.
The sons work often at construction in all parts of Alaska.  The lefty one centers in Anchorage..

As predicted the Democrat won because the RINOs gave her their #2 rank and left Palin off. GOP is dead to me. They’d rather a far left pro abortion liberal than another Republican in the seat.
