That is really an odd looking electrical plug. It almost looks like a gas nozzle.  :o

Well, why not?  The perfect answer to the conversion to an EV.  Have a gasoline powered generator in the trunk to charge up the batteries when needed.  Really the options are numerous--solar panels on the vehicles roof and any number of windmills.
