I just picked up one of these in a factory 15". Been playing :D  with it for a couple days now. Just wondering if anybody has one. Kinda like some info.
Like what bullet are you getting good accuracy with and what powder are you using. And another thing, what kind of life are you getting from your brass. Like how many time have you been able to reload the brass.
Any info would be appreciated.

I have one in an 11" tc custom shop bbl. I am still in the load development stages, but it seems to like h322 and 120 grain bullets the best.  Mine is for deer hunting, so I am working with that style of bullets.  I haven't reloaded enough rounds to comment on case life.

Please keep in touch and maybe we can fine tune these rigs together.

smoky, I am in the same boat you are. I just started loading for my Encore 15 inch 7mmBR. I have to get to the range and see how it does.  :grin:

I had a factory 15" when the Encore first came out.   I shot IHMSA Big Bore Unlimited with it here, and it was unbeatable - did 40/40 from the first match.   Seems like I only had a couple hundred pieces of brass for it, and reloaded them many, many times before I dropped all the factory stuff and along with it the Encores.   That was 4 years ago, so don't remember my loads offhand, but know they were a little below the top with 140 gr bullets.

I have one and I am shooting 140 gr. moly-coated Remington 140 gr. bullets using Remington brass & 71/2 primers. My particular gun shoots well with a max load of IMR4895. :wink:

I have recently purchased an Encore 7mm BR and I really like it.  The two bullets I have used to date are the Hornady in 162 grain Amax and the 162-grain boat tail spire point.

The best load so far is 28.8 grain of BLC-2 with a Winchester small rifle primer.  This load produces an average velocity of 2022 fps with an extreme spread of 8 fps with the A-max.  Approximate Pressure = 48,077 psi.

The recoil is moderate in the scoped Encore.  Low-pressure loads like this will provide longer brass life.  I would guess that 12 to 20 uses would be possible if you neck size the cases only.

Most handgun hunters depend upon high velocity and light bullets.  If you use an Amax bullet with an extremely high ballistic coefficient like .620 on the 162 grainer, the loss of velocity out to 300 yards is less than with the faster and lighter bullets.  The retained energy is considerably higher with the heavier bullet, as well.

I got a 10" 7mmBR a few years ago and took a nice 5 point buck with it 2 yrs ago.  If I recall correctly it's favorite load was a Sierra 130gr SSP over H322, about .5gr under max.  It would group around .75 - 1" @ 100yds with a Burris 3-9x from sandbags.  

I really like the short little 7mmBR in the short 10" barrel.  I'm thinking about trying silhouettes with it this spring, if I can make the time.
