Picked up the 44 Mag
« on: March 13, 2004, 03:11:01 AM »
I stopped at Cabelas yesterday and picked up my new 44 Mag NEF synthetic handi. The first thing I checked was the trigger pull. Fantastic right from the box. Can't wait to get it home and try it out. I wish they would install some real good sights on them. Anyone know if there are any good after market ones to be had
shot placement is everything.

James B.,
Congrats on your new toy. I love the 44. in a rifle. I use 320 grain Cast Performance bullets for deer hunting, and they do a great job on deer. It's a really nice caliber to load for.

James B. I shoot 44 spl. in my Mag all the time, never a bit
of fouling in the front of spl brass, this is in pistols and other
44 mag rifles I have had in past. And will happen in the NEF
that I juft got. I will prob. use mostly cast bullets.  This is just
my 2 1/2 cents Marv.

Matt,
Sorry to hear your 270 went unused in Alaska, but with all those other barrels, you should have lots of opportunities. Let us know how they shoot when you get them back!
