Might be looking at a 1963 vintage 336. Rifle appears to be in very good condition by the pictures. Also is equipped with a Williams peep sight. No box or paperwork. Anyone have an idea of the approximate value range?

Suggest you check the auctions (preferably the closed ones that sold) they very from area to area and if you use one of the books value can be off a bit.  Most of the auctions will have pics so you can compare the wood, blue etc.

You need a few more pieces of information, such as is this designated simply a 336, or does it have further designations like SC or RC, etc.
Is the bore mint, or is it spotty, dark, or pitted ?
Don't let outside appearances fool you into believing that the inner workings are just as nice.
If all is in good shape, then I would put a minimum value of $175 and if it is a rarer, more collectible rifle, then the maximum could be double that or better.
Let us know the details.

I just picked up a 1976 model 336 in .30-30 for $200, in pretty fair shape and I didn't feel cheated.
