Ruger Mark II 22/45 bull barrel.

In December of last year I posted that my Browning Buckmark was the only 22cal pistol I'd ever owned.
Seeing the thread again this morning I remembered a JP SAUR AND SOHN six shooter I had that I ended up trading for a beagle rabbit dog.

Colt Officers Model Target. Slickest and most accurate .22 I've had. Bought it from a friend for $50 over 40 years ago. This past year I passed it on to my son. He was impressed with how slick it is and it fits his hand. It pleased me greatly that he appreciated it.

B-I-Ls S&W K-22 is the most satisfactory to shoot. However my Ruger MarkII with the 5.5" bull barrel is every bit as accurate.

By far, the best I've ever owned and still own, is my High Standard Victor!

I've won a LOT of pistol matches with that gun and put a lot of meat on the table with it, as well...

Two others I really like is, my Colt Woodsman and my S&W M-18...

Mine would be the 1970's vintage 6.25 inch Colt Targetsman I got from my Brother, before that it would have been my stainless Ruger MKII 5.5 inch bullbarrel.

Fired some good ones and some ok ones.

For a revolver, depends on what your doing with it.
Hunting?
Plinking?
Formal target shooting?
Ruger single six was about as nice as a 6 shot, single action can be. The Heritage Roygh Rider is a pretty decent single action 6 banger that wont break the bank.
I had fired a few HS revolvers.
Not the best revolvers and definately not the worst.
Taurus revolvers (941) are pretty decent, Id rate them a bit better than HS Sentinels Id shot.

I got to try a new striker fired  Tx-22, 16 shot mfg byTaurus.
Glock like in disembly, accurate, comes with threaded muzzle.

The most practical .22 I ever had was a Browning Buckmark, 5.5'' barrel I believe. Comfortable, more accurate than I could ever be. Wish I had it back.
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

My favorite .22 pistol is a H&R 904 9 shot, swing out cylinder and bull barrel. Bought it in the early eighties and it's been a good one.

Sometime after my 2020 post I ran across an RIA XT, the sort of but not quite 1911 22 magnum pistol they offer. It was in the tan color and the price was right so I decided to give it a try. It feels like a 1911, has a nice trigger, and is fairly accurate. The downside is that it has proved to be extremely ammo finicky. Using CCI 40 gr. maxi- mag ammo it is reliable. The 30 gr. varmint load won't cycle it. Anything except the first ammo is iffy. It IS an attention getter though. Ungodly loud and blows a huge fireball. It is almost as ear splittingly loud as a 357 magnum. It is one of the few guns that I regret buying.

I'll stick with my love for my old single six. I have more accurate 22 handguns but none that I like better.
