.22 Extra Long RF European (Swiss)
« on: March 17, 2023, 08:03:37 AM »
I wonder if this will chamber in a .22 WRF rifle?
This round shorter than the U.S. .22 Extra Long.

The site is in Spanish so I use a Google translator, but if you go to the upper right corner there you can change language.
This site lists and has pictures of a lot of cartridges that are new to me in the past ten years, and even at the Cartridge Collectors Assc. I am a member of have not been mentioned.

I suppose that like the .22 WRF, it will chamber in the .22 Magnum..and will fire, but may not be as accurate as the .22 magnum.
Looking at the cartridges pictured, they seem to be somewhat crude..especially in the crimp area, so I wonder just how widely they were used at the zenith of their usage.
Depending upon diameter..they may fire in a regular .22LR rifle that has a long enough leade (e.g. Stinger).

Obviously a  good 'capture' by any cartridge collector.
