A personal story, personally observed..
« on: February 17, 2023, 03:15:29 AM »
What the news DOES NOT tell you..
I was working near Mayville, NY one day, when from the top of the silo I was building, I saw an old lady with her broom drive a 2,500 lb shorthorn bull, back into the plank fence he had just broken out of. That did not make the local newspaper.
Had the bull gored or trampled the lady, THAT would have made the news!
Armed citizens save lives every day, in thousands of events that never make the news.  In fact, the news avoids reporting such events.  Here is a sample of what I am talking about.

For sure, the many times guns save lives, or protect an innocent person from harm. Are never reported. At least not by the main stream media.

This is a reason that every law abiding person should carry or be able to protect themselves with a firearm without question. Just never know when one might run into someone with this mindset.

I've read somewhere that over 10,000 lives are saved each year by law abiding gun owning citizens.  Never mentioned in the media.  99% of the time they never have to fire their weapon.

Exactly!  How often does the sudden knowledge of 'impending justice' for the hood, cause him to abandon any aggressive intentions?  ..And how many who used their CCW to good effect..gho on to report the incident?

I am thinking that most are just glad to have cleared the scene and go on with their possibly, freshly saved ilfe.

I personally know of two exactly such incidents..

Yes, that 10,000 sounds more like a grudging 'admission' by the Brady bunch.  Most from GOA and such, hover near
   the 390K mark..

We all know that is not a good answer, more like "He kept twitching", or "because that is all the ammo I had".

I went in and talked to the guy and bought a pizza to take home. He used fmj’s as he did not know much, so I showed him one of my magazines and gave him some advice on ammo. He shot that guy a bunch of times with all pass throughs. Took balls to take on a guy with a shotgun with a pistol.

My son bought me a nice, embroidered cap which reads.."We don't call 911"..

I don't wear it publicly, just in case I need to use my CCW.  I don't need some shyster lawyer claiming I 'bragged' about not calling 911..

When I worked at The Gun Exchange in 1979, one of the owners was telling of another gun store owner that shot an armed robber with a 1911 7 times.  Supposedly, when asked why he kept shooting after the robber was down, the owner said "He was still moving".  I do not remember just where or when that was supposed to have happened.

Polk county is fortunate to have Sheriff Judd.
