Best Helmet for quad riding
« on: March 11, 2004, 01:19:38 AM »
Hi there

can anyone suggest some brands or models of helmets that would  be suitable for riding a quad.

I am particularly after a helmet that doesnt encase the hole head, has plenty of breath space and ventilation. (Ie motor cross helmet is not what im after). I suppose somewhere between a bicycle helmet and a motor bike helmet. I dont get up to speeds of more than 40km/hr.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Pigman, you can find an "old style" openface helmet under most any brand name these days and usually for quite reasonable prices.  As long as they are certified they should do what you expect.

For hunting or working around the place I choose not to wear a brain bucket but sport riding is a different story.  I then wear one of the best moto x buckets money can buy along with a good set of fog resistent goggles.  There are times I feel the goggles are more important than the hat.
