I'm fairly new to the whole archery thing. I purchased a compound a few years ago and to be quite honest it never did anything for me. I want to learn all the basics of traditional archery. I wll be mainly target shooting and deer hunting. Where is a good place to start?

Just my $.02, but you might want to see if there are any traditional shooters in your area or an archery shop that caters to traditional needs. Both these sources can give you hands-on help...much better than reading books or the internet. You can go to bowsite and punch up your state, then ask if there is anyone in your area.

Other than that, the other guys have given you great advise and places to start.

go to your local bookstore and buy a copy of traditional bowhunter magazine. if you like it get a suscription. it is the best bowhunting rag out there and instead of trying to sell you a mag full of advertisments, you get hunting stories and advise from guys who know and will share it.
