Varmint Safari?
« on: May 01, 2004, 04:22:33 PM »
Has anyone here gone on a varmint safari? That being a road trip to states such as the Dakotas, Montana, or Wyoming for the sole purposes of shooting prairie dogs and gophers with the occasional rockchuck thrown in if opportunity presents itself.

A couple of years ago I took off to North Dakota to shoot PD's with my Contender. It was a ton of fun belly crawling within range of my TC. I also was blessed with the opportunity to shoot gophers with a nice gentleman from Montana. It was quite a thrill to shoot from the truck window( in Massachusetts that will get you some heap of trouble) .

Hopefully, I will be doing some kind of summer hunting this year. So is anyone else planningto do a "varmint safari"?

I can't, But my dad is planning a trip to Wyoming at the end of this month just for pdogs. He even bought himself a heavy barreld Savage .223 just for the trip. Sounds like it would be a ton of fun
