Value of Model 64 30-30
« on: January 08, 2003, 03:42:57 PM »
We need some info like: Is it a Deluxe model with factory checkering and sling swivels or is it a Standard model without these items? Does it have extra holes in the receiver for a scope or non standard sights? Are there extra holes in the stock or forend  for non factory swivels or for a compass? Does the stock finish, blueing of metal parts, and sights all appear to be factory. What is the approximate percentage of original blueing and stock finish left ? What about the condition of the bore, stock, forend, is there rust anywhere, scratches, cracks? Without the info you'd be looking at a range between $250- $1200
You mean to say there are rifles other than old Winchester leverguns ?

Winchester 64 30-30

I think the 64's are some of the finest woods deer hunting rifles ever created. I have a '38 in 32WS that has killed many Michigan whitetails. Also a '33 in 30WCF/30-30 that has done likewise. When these rifles are brought up to your shoulder the sights are lined up with the target, or so it seems. I would like to try one in 25-35 WCF if I can find a specimen for under a grand someday.
