Does anyone here use a rimfire conversion kit for their 1911? If so which make and models do you use and what do you think about it?

Thanks in advance,

ciener makes one that are realy good if your not looking for one hole groups.  kimber sells one that used to be a ciener, but here recently they have started making there own.  it should be good, but i haven't much about it.  marvel makes to types.  one the whole slides operates just like the 1911.  the other the front of the slide is fixed and the rear operates like a browning buckmark.  the seond marvel is the most accurate of any 22 conversions, but also the most expensive.

I called around today and asked a few manufactures about their conversion kits. After talking with Marvel it’s pretty impressive that their 50 yard accuracy guarantee is a half inch better than most of the others on the market. Less than 500 bucks for one inch or less consistent accuracy seems like a bargain. I’m going to give the Marvel a shot. There is a six week lead time so we’ll see how it works out in a bit.

Thanks
Scott

I have a Ceiner unit for my target Kimber. It is more than adequate in the accuracy department for my needs. In a machine rest I'm sure the Marvel unit is more accurate, which is a moot point for me as I don't own one.

If you don't mind aluminum, and can live with it, the Ceiner(of silencer fame) unit may be your best choice. I for one prefer steel in my handguns and have the original Colt conversion unit.
