NEF youth 20ga ejection problem
« on: March 23, 2004, 06:31:51 PM »
Just bought this for my 9year old boy to get him threw his hunter safety class and to get started. I"ve never been around this type of firearm before so don't know what to expect. When we were trying it out behind the house this afternoon I noticed that 1 out of 4 shots would not eject and I had to knock it out with a cleaning rod. Using win2 3/4, any advice on what to do?

Is the gun new or used ? I had the same problem in my youth 20 gauge, but I bought it used.  After a very thourough cleaning it cleared up.  I had to really scrub the chamber to get it to come clean.  Seemed that the more I scrubed, the more gunk came out.  A lot of guys have polished their chambers to clear this problem up.  I haven't done this so I'll let someone else give you directions.  Either way good luck, and congradulations on your son becoming a shooter.
