4 year old grand daughter's first fishing trip
« on: May 18, 2023, 10:11:40 AM »
This past Sunday on Mother's day, Matt and Becky brought our 4 year old grand daughter Maya over for her first ever try at fishing. He bought her a little child size Zebco fishing outfit for her to use.

She caught and landed two catfish in the around 3 pound class, caught another that managed to flop on as soon as it touched land and a bream. Pretty darn good for a first ever fishing trip if ya ask me.

Me and Matt wet a hook to say we fished but neither of us caught a fish so Maya was the fishing champion of the day. We were at my pond on the other side of the blueberry orchard from my house.

We've just got 3" of rain today on top of already rain soaked ground. Where Matt is squatting in the photos is now under water. I have a huge stream of water flowing thru my pond from runoff. The entire bank along the highway side is out of banks and almost all of the bank toward my driveway is also flooded. I have about 100' of my driveway under water and flowing like a river.

This is just about the highest water level I've ever seen since the pond was dug 10-12 years ago.

Glad you guys enjoyed the story and photos. The grand kids are why I had it build more so than for me. Maya is our youngest grand child and that was her first ever fishing experience. She sure was excited when she hung into those fish.
