Ending much speculation about what their “legendary news” would reveal, GLOCK announced the new .22LR GLOCK G44, as expected today. The G44 is a 10-round capacity blowback rimfire semi-automatic in a GLOCK 19 frame size.

The new G44 features a “hybrid steel” slide made of five pieces combining steel and polymer, making the slide light enough to reliably cycle rimfire ammunition.

I had to buy a 44. I bought it to save money shooting my 19. I also bought it in hopes my son who is 11 would enjoy it. Both have happened but the trigger in my 44 is nothing like my 19. Its still a pretty fun gun

I already have one of those Lloyd, it's called a S&W M&P Compact 22. It's a Shield size .22 semiauto with fully adjustable sights. Really a nice little gun.

I have one of those also. It is almost a 22 clone to my wife's 380EZ. Great practice gun for her.

ive got a compact M&P 45 and 9mm. They are substantially larger then my shields or 43 glock is. Are these 22s closer to the size of a compact or are they really shield sized. I looked and cant find a shield 22lr.

Mine is REALLY Shield size Lloyd. I bought the first one I saw advertised anywhere. Got it on Gun Broker within a month of them being announced.

What's not to like, Shield size with a better trigger and fully adjustable sights, 10 round magazine and very accurate. They make M&P rimfires with longer barrel and larger (full M&P size) .22s but they don't have adjustable sights like the Compact does.

have you tried a few differnt brands of ammo and did it run well with all of it?? buddy bought his wife one of those lcp II 22s and it was a total pos. He even sent it back to ruger and they supposedly fixed it and it still wouldnt run a mag without a bobble. He ended up dumping it.

Not sure how many types of ammo run thru it but nary a bobble so far. I've had this perhaps 2-3 years. I got it when they first came out and only place you could find them was on Gun Broker.
