Some people were discussing the looming
gubmint shutdown, and how it would negatively
affect various people, and this and that, and
casually mentioned the string of murders/shootings
just west of here.
A couple of the people talking about the shutdown
were very young ( I'm guessing college age- I couldn't
tell over the radio) and they were pretty concerned
about losing their "benefits "
? ? ? ? ? ? ?
I was thinking, how many dollars/years worth
could they have paid into the system so far?
IMO the elderly/truly disabled/veterans should
be the first in line. That's what the whole concept
of dipping into everybody's paycheck is supposed
to be about, having the funds available at a time
when you're not able to work at a career and
pay your way .
Way too many "free" gubmint handouts for
people that have little/no blood sweat and tears
in the game these days.
Many that have had their heads up their butts
won't speak until they figure out that they can't
pay utilities or buy medications or can't get
medical treatment or buy groceries
