At our 50th class reunion last spring, got to talk with a classmate that had worked and retired from the RR with about 30 years on it. He was an engineer for most of that time. This was just a little over 2 months after that happened. This is what his explanation as to why these are happening. Up until 7-8 years before, the inspectors had 90 seconds, a minute and a half, to inspect each car. They cut that back to 30 seconds, and if you are around many RR tracks, you might have noticed, the trains are much longer now. The billionaires that own these company's are trying to squeak out every dollar they can, and to hell with the safety factors involved. I hope they get their a**es sued off!!
