Easter Sunday
« on: March 29, 2024, 03:29:01 PM »
I checked around town on-line and found three congregations that have Easter Sunrise services, two of them offer Sunrise Breakfast after the service.

Because we are holdiing Easter Dinner at our place, I am going to get my buttocks out of bed and attend a Sunrise Service; I used to do that almost every Easter but have gotten old and lazy.
We have the Country Ham simmering on the stove now, it should be done around Mid-night; will probably make a crust and bake an apple pie tonight as when the other half in is in the kitchen at the same time, tempers get rather short.
Tomorrow I will coat and brown it with a sauce, Even if I am back from Church on Sunday by Eight Thirty, browning the ham then, plus cooking potatoes for mashing gets to be too much of a rush.

I hope you all have Blessed Easter.
Godspeed to all.

We had a pleasing Good Friday service last night. Just regular Easter morning services planned for Sunday.

Next Sunday evening is our regular monthly dinner where the community is invited.  As always, no charge for dinners.

I was going to go to a 6:30 Service and then enjoy a breakfast many churches offer , BUT, I looked at the clock at 6:22.
So I will go to a service at 10:15 but no breakfast but then, chowing down is NOT the reason one should go to the Lord's House for any way.

My Whiskey Apple Pie is screwed because I followed instructions and set the temp. at 425, burnt the top crust, but the bottom half are pretty good baked apples, after I peeled the top crust off.
Holding my breath on how the ham turned out, cooked it yesterday, SMART MOVE, and will slice it when Sharon's relatives arrive.
Deciding whether or not to add broth from the baked ham to gravy for mashed potatoes. It contains brown sugar, grape wine, juice from sliced apple and orange and apple vinegar.
It gelled up over night like ham broth should, BUT, not sure how it will taste as my taste buds are pfft and Sharon has such cock-eyed since of taste, not sure what to do.
10 or more years ago, you used to be able to buy jarred smoked ham gravy but I have not seen that for years.

May the Lord Bless you, one and all, with a Joyus Easter Sunday.
THE CHRIST HAS RISEN!
