Don't shoot the messenger on this one. A friend sent me the link to this article and if this is an example of the newer generation and their perception of pickups back in the day then I am at a loss for words. Supposedly the author of this piece grew up with his or her dad restoring older chevy camaro's. No concept of work pickups from back then or niche vehicles.

No...I wouldn't shoot the messenger..after all, you're only the messenger.

So often we see lists of "10 worst trucks" or 10 worst cars..maybe 10 best deer rifles...

I take those to indicate trhat the ten best or worst is just that man's OPINION of what is best or worst.

Looking at the list of those 15 trucks..I owned a Ford Courier, a Chevy Luv and a Datsun...liked each of them, and was pleased with the service they
    provided..

Back then, I traded my vehicles about every 2 years, so I saw a lot of them, considering I did the same for my wife with her cars.
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

guys smoking crack. im not a fan of s10s but our company used them for meter trucks for quite a while and did it because the bean counters found them to be the cheapest small truck to run factoring in longevity fuel economy and repairs and yup even toyota was in on the original test. then tell me who would pass up a nice 65 chev. nothing wrong with the ford lightning either. in their day the were THE performance truck and were about bullet proof. like was said that article was some young snot who wasnt there that just wanted to publish something and the libs at msn dont know the difference between fact and fiction and dont really care
